Happy 4th of July!

Hello! I hope everyone is having a safe and Happy 4th of July! For those of you that are going to celebrate throughout the weekend, I have a couple of quick, easy, and super adorable crafts!

First up is a Festive Banner!

1" Circle Punch
Red Stamp Ink Pad
Alphabet/Number Stamps
Triangle Stencil (3" wide 4"tall)
1 sheet of white card stock
1 sheet of patterned blue scrapbook paper
1 sheet of patterned red scrapbook paper
Scrapbook adhesive tabs

1. First you will need a triangle stencil of some sort in order to make the triangles for your banner. I made my own stencil by just drawing a triangle shape using Microsoft Word, and setting the dimensions as 3" wide by 4" tall. I printed the triangle out, cut around the shape and tada!

2. Using the triangle stencil, trace 7 triangles on the back of each sheet of scrapbook paper and cut out.

3. Using your 1" Circle Punch, punch 14 circles from the sheet of white card stock.

4. On each circle you have punched out, you will stamp a letter. It will spell out
H-A-P-P-Y-4-T-H-O-F-J-U-L-Y when you are finished.

5. Now using the Scrapbook adhesive tabs, you will stick one circle on to the middle of each patterned triangle, alternating red and blue to form a pattern.

6. Now you will tape each triangle to the twine to form your banner. I kept the twine on the roll and then cut it after I got all of the triangles attached. I left about 5" on each end, 1" between triangles, and then a 3" space between the words.

7. Banner is finished! Now all you have to do is find a place to hang and display your patriotic banner!

Next up is a Patriotic Wreath!

8" Grape Vine Wreath
Hot Glue Sticks
Hot Glue Gun
1 roll of 1" wide wired ribbon
U, S, A, wooden letters
1 sheet of patterned red scrapbook paper (I used the left over paper from my banner!)
1 sheet of patterned blue scrapbook paper (I used the left over paper from my banner!)
Spray adhesive
Fine grit sand paper
X-acto knife/Cutting Mat
Patriotic Embelishment

1. First up is tying your fancy bow! This was one of the first ones I've ever tried to make, and I think it turned out pretty well! I just went to youtube to find a video tutorial! I ended up using the entire roll of ribbon!

2. Using spray adhesive, spray the front of the wooden letters and then adhere them to the back of the scrapbook paper. I alternated colors, U and A are red, and S is blue.

3. Using the x-acto knife, cut out around each letter.

4. Use the fine grit sand paper to lightly go around the edges of the letter to smooth everything out, and to get rid of any uneven edges.

5. Using your hot glue gun, attach the bow, embellishment, and letters to your wreath.

6. Let everything dry for at least 30 minutes before you hang your wreath!

Lastly, Patriotic Tissue Paper Pom Poms!

10 sheets of Red, Blue, and White Tissue Paper
Floral wire/Ribbon

1. Stack 10 sheets of tissue paper on top of one another.

2. Accordion fold the tissue paper.

3. Using floral wire, or ribbon, tie the tissue paper together in the middle.

4. Depending on how long you want the pompoms to hang, cut your twine, mine was about 2-3' in length.

5. Attach the twine to the floral wire/ribbon in the middle of the tissue paper.

6. Cut a rounded end on each end of the tissue paper.

7. Spread out each end, and SLOWLY pull apart each sheet of tissue paper, about half way through do the opposite side.

8. Flip the pompom over and do the same to the back side.

9. Fluff and hang your pompom!

Just a note: These can be made in any color, or you can layer colors to have a multicolored pompom!

I hope everyone has found these crafts easy to make and they help to make your 4th of July Celebration beautiful!

As Always,

Happy Crafting!

I'm Back!

Well, I have EPICALLY failed at posting a new project every week! What can I say though, life just gets in the way sometimes! Hopefully I will be back to regular posting soon! I did finish a couple of projects, but silly me, all I have is a photo of the finished projects.... If any one wants step by step instructions of these two projects, let me know and I will be happy to oblige! Coming up very soon will be some 4th of July projects I am doing. My best friend and I are throwing a little 4th of July/My 23rd Birthday Party in the coming weeks, so keep a lookout for my upcoming projects!

Happy Crafting!
